George Kusunoki Miller, also known as Joji by his stage name,  is a musician from the United States who first gained popularity through his YouTube channels TVFilthyFrank and DizastaMusic. He developed several characters, including Filthy Frank, for his videos. Pink Guy, Salamander Man, Lemon Guy, and Safari Man were among the other characters.

Early Life and Family

Miller was born in Osaka, Japan. He is descended from both Japanese and Australian ancestors. He left Japan at the age of 18 and moved to the United States.

He attended an international school in Kobe, Japan, called Canadian Academy, and graduated in 2012.

Miller took steps to protect his privacy, including deleting the video “Filthy Frank Exposes Himself?” in which he revealed himself to be a college student in Brooklyn, New York City, and that he did not want to reveal personal information for fear of being unable to find work in the future due to the nature of his show.

He began releasing music under the moniker Joji on his Soundcloud profile in 2015.

In a January 2016 Instagram post, he revealed that he originally meant for this music to be private; however, after it was reuploaded and made public, he decided to make his account public and release two songs.

Joji released I Don’t Wanna Waste My Time in April 2017, rumored to be the lead song from a future project.

However, in October 2017, he released Will He and shortly after that confirmed that song as the lead single off his debut EP, In Tongues, with I don’t wanna waste my time” remaining as a standalone single.

The EP, published on November 3, 2017, featured “will he,” four new tracks, and World$tar Money, a song he originally shared on his Soundcloud in 2016.

On December 29th, he announced his retirement from comedy and the discontinuation of Filthy Frank videos.

This was due to concerns about his mental and physical wellbeing. He will, however, continue to work on other projects.

Joji released the track Yeah Right on May 8th. A few months later, he collaborated with several artists and released Midsummer Madness on June 7th, followed by Peach Jam with BlocBoy JB on July 17th, both of which were featured on the 88rising album Head in the Clouds.

Joji launched his debut album, BALLADS 1, on October 26th, 2018, marking the beginning of his great career away from the humorous Filthy Frank videos.

SLOW DANCING IN THE DARK and CAN’T GET OVER YOU were among these singles. In 2019, he released only one solo single, Sanctuary, on June 14th.

Although he contributed songs to 88rising’s Head In the Clouds II album, including Walking and Breathe.

Joji released his new single, Gimme Love, on April 16th, 2020, accompanying the announcement of his upcoming album, Nectar.
