Early Life

Rober was born and raised in Orange County, California. He developed an interest in engineering as a child, creating a set of goggles that prevented tears when cutting onions.

He got a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Brigham Young University and a master’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Southern California.

Prior to joining YouTube, Rober worked as an engineer for NASA for nine years, spending seven of those years at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory working on the Curiosity rover.

He later spent four years as a product designer in Apple Inc.’s Special Projects Group, where he authored patents relating to virtual reality in self-driving automobiles.

Rober partnered with Jim Browning, ScammerPayback, and different state and federal officials throughout the construction of the third device to use the glitter bomb bait package as a method to track down and arrest money mules and their supervisors.
