Foster was born in Los Angeles on November 19, 1962, the youngest child of Evelyn Ella (“Brandy”) and Lucius Fisher Foster III. She is descended from English, German, and Irish ancestors. She is descended from John Alden, who came to North America in 1620 aboard the Mayflower.
Her parents divorced before her birth, and she never developed a bond with her father. Lucinda (born 1954), Constance (born 1955), and Lucius (nicknamed “Buddy”) (born 1957), as well as three half-brothers from her father’s previous marriage.
